Leila holds a PhD in Education, specializing in Language in Education and Online Learning. She has wide range of interests spanning the field of Language and Literacy, and has taught a range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Applied English, Academic Literacies, Language Practice, Educational Linguistics, Research Paradigms, TEFL, Digital Literacy, Online learning and New Technologies in Teaching and Learning English. She has also completed courses in online learning through the Universities of Ohio and Oregon. Leila’s research interests include issues surrounding subject English and language in education: literacies, multimodality, digital literacy and social inclusion, the digital divide, communities of practice, identity, online learning and teacher training, some of which is the focus of her book “Constructing identities in online communities of practiceâ€. She has presented several papers at local and international conferences, primarily in the area of Educational Linguistics, Language in Education, and online learning, and is currently involved in research projects in the field.
